The traditional American values and culture you criticize in this article are in sharp decline. This was illustrated in a much publicized recent Wall Street Journal survey: https://www.wsj.com/articles/americans-pull-back-from-values-that-once-defined-u-s-wsj-norc-poll-finds-df8534cd?mod=hp_lead_pos9

“In 1998, 70 percent of Americans said patriotism was very important to them. This year only 38 percent said so. In 1998, 62 percent said religion was very important to them. This year only 39 percent said so.” https://www.nytimes.com/2023/03/29/opinion/money-is-up-patriotism-and-religion-are-down.html

So you globalist atheists are winning in spectacular fashion, and the Huckabee types are being routed. Is this making America a better place? I would argue no.

The fact that the ideological trend lines are all in your favor, yet America seems to be getting worse in so many ways, suggests that you’re looking for scapegoats in all the wrong places.

The ignorance of a large segment of the population cannot be overestimated. There doesn’t seem to be a cure.

Mr. Baker, you earned my profound respect many years ago with your Magnum Opus, Bush Dynasty, Family of Secrets." So it was with great disappointment that I read your latest post, "In Guns We Trust?" I mistakenly assumed that your effort in writing the Bush Dynasty expose' of one of the founding families of the Deep State that is too blame for so much that is wrong with this country, meant that you would be a hard core Patriot in the original, revolutionary sense of the word-- meaning that you would also be a Federalist or strict Constitutionalist with a strict view of the sacred nature of our Constitutional 2nd amendment right to keep and bear arms. Unfortunately in this world in which we exist, and in this great country in which I am a proud citizen, there will always be people of criminal mindset, intent on committing murder, mayhem and other forms of criminal mischief, and they will occasionally utilize firearms to perpetrate their crimes. Why do I call our 2nd Amendment right "sacred?" It is the idea that law-abiding citizens of this country have the ultimate right and power to defend their lives and liberty, that elevates the right to keep and bear arms from the "profane" or mundane, to the "sacred." I am deeply sorry that you do not share this concept with me and others who believe as I do, as we believe that it is a sacred right to defend ourselves, our country, and our liberty as free citizens of this country. If you are offended by my position, then there is nothing more to be said about this issue, except that someday you and your family may one day wind up being slaughtered or enslaved by those who had no right to slaughter or enslave you, but you allowed this to happen because of your unwillingness to take up your sacred right to defend yourself and your family. If we all lived in a different world where there were no weapons of any kind- firearms or other types-- and every single citizen was peaceful and law abiding and there was zero crime-- not even the necessity for law enforcement existed, then I would be the first to give up my firearms and I would embrace your viewpoint. But as things look right now where I'm standing, I refuse to be someone's else victim, whether he or she be a violent criminal or a tyrant.

Religion is politics by other means.

I mention this in passing.

Relevant to your thoughtful essay is the following suggestion -- one that I have offered in more than a few forums. Rather than wasting time and energy speaking truth to power, we must agree to speak truth ABOUT power to the untold millions of power's victims.

Only then can we stage an insurrection of the spirit and the mind.

We outnumber the bastards. So if a contemporary Stalin asks us how many divisions we have, our answer can be "More than enough to cleanse the world of you."

It’s a shame you haven’t looked into the mass casualty “shooting” with the same skepticism as the Boston marathon bombing. As someone who studies gunshot crime scenes, the suspect was not shot in that video. He was allegedly “shot” 5 times by the police and not single drop of blood spatter was on the wall and on the broken window behind the shooter. He was shot on the floor and there should have been plenty of blood spatter on that wall. DO NOT OVERLOOK THIS ANOMALY.
