People from other planets viewing our Earth might get the impression that it’s made entirely of plastic. Here are some scary specifics.
IIIRC: The opening swimming pool scene from The Graduate. 1967.
“I have just one word to say to you, young man- plastics!”
Benjamin- some words or gestures signifying incomprehension.
If only Ben had been able to respond with what BigOil’s chemists knew then, but what we only found out after it was 50 years too late.
I want to point out that all of this… nearly all of it completely… has taken place within the span of human lifetime of someone still alive today. In 1955, close to the dawn of “the Magic of Science!” nothing of this was so.
Sigh....when will we ban plastic across the globe?? We need to go back to glass. Plastic should be outlawed. Period.
