As for Alabama Sen. Katie Britt and her remarks, I am reminded of what Chris Rock said in I think his most recent Netflix special. He said Republicans lie, while Democrats only tell part of the truth. While this is a big generalization, I think there is some accuracy in it. All politicians lie sometimes. It seems to come with the job. But Republicans just lie fragrantly, as if no one would ever even think to look at the facts. It’s really disturbing. Democrats do often bend the truth or just tell part of the story. I think sometimes they are fooling themselves. Reublicans, some of them, seem to think the facts just doesn’t matter.
The important thing about Ms.Chou's death is that it was completely avoidable. The ability to open a car door from the inside should not rely on automagic, electrical buttons; there must be a direct, mechanical connection between a handle and the mechanism holding the door shut. It's bad enough that the windows won't open without electricity. There is too damn much automation that increases the price of the vehicle and none of it is necessary.
