We who’ve been paying attention over the years know of voting machine vulnerabilities, specially e-voting systems.

Trump complaining firstly comes after his efforts to undermine the vote in 2016.

Here, he’s right the way he was with his “fake news”. What he called fake news was the factually supported criticism of him or his administration. Nothing he called fake news was accurate.

So his position on vote machine issues is irrelevant and worthless.

As for the best system — that is, one that involves paper ballots and a paper trail — his supporters f***ed around with them.

So Trump-wise, before one reaches the point of his comments here, you have to at least acknowledge the harm he and his supporters and continue to do (ditto the GOP).

tl;dr: who cares what Donnie thinks about this issue. He has nothing useful to offer.

Russ, as a new reader of your work and avid supporter of (CGG), @CoalitionGoodGv thanks for diving deeper and raising valid concerns: the main thing is genuine election integrity and that isn't possible via DREs or BMDs.

SOS replacing Coffee Co's exposed device's is an admission of what he had long denied.

Since HB316 we have advocated less is more: eligible GA voters should know their votes are accurately recorded and reflected.

BMDs are worse than DREs.

STS & DT's 2000 results denialists are nearing the end of democracy in favor of autocracy.

The codes can be read actually and no one has seen purposeful problems but some of them have been misconstrued accidentally. All precinct final counts need to be publicly displayed. All ballot images put online. Have Paper ballots and paper poll books at every precinct because computer failures happen too often. Excessive (real) voter purges must be prosecuted.

But...but...but, DHS says it's fine, so we shouldn't worry our little ol' heads about it. /sarc

The only safe, verifiable voting method is hand-marked paper ballots, hand-counted in public. If disabled folks have difficulties, let them bring a friend or caregiver along to help them. It's what Alabama has done in the past and they may still allow it.

BMD's read a bar code or QR code, not the marked ballot itself. There is no way to verify that the code is an accurate record of the votes.

This has morphed into the nationwide EIP. Election Integrity Project. Volunteers sign up, on the internet , sign confidentiality & non-disclosure agreements, essentially, “they can take you to court, but you can’t take us to court” agreements ; then they go through an online training & also zoom meet-ups . & local meet & greet in person get togethers . All in the name of patriotism & protecting the democratic process. Get ready for a clown show 11/8 & 3 ring circus 🤡 🎪 that will probably last a couple more years at least
